Lumbar spinal stenosis

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a pathological narrowing of the spinal canal and/or intervertebral foramina in the lumbar spine, usually of degenerative origin. It may be caused by disc disease, osteophytes, ligament hypertrophy, or facet joint degeneration, leading to compression of neural structures. It presents with low back pain, leg pain or weakness, and neurogenic intermittent claudication.
