11. Sacral Epidural Injection (Episacral – Sacral Epidural Injection)

Sacral epidural injection is a minimally invasive therapeutic technique used for the relief of pain in the lumbar spine and lower extremities, particularly in conditions such as low back pain and sciatica.

How it is performed

This procedure involves targeted injection of a local anesthetic, with or without corticosteroid, into the epidural space via the sacrum, usually through the sacral hiatus.

Therapeutic goal

The reduction of inflammation and irritation of spinal nerve roots, in order to relieve pain and improve lower limb mobility.

Technical guidance
